Traditional vs. Infrared sauna

Finnish Sauna vs. Infrared saunaNow there are many active people, who aware about the health and beauty of the human body. Some of them go in for sport, but some clever and lazy are trying different methods. In addition, the best one is SAUNA. When I say sauna, I mean all kinds of thermal procedures such as Russian Banya, Turkish Hamam, Japanese Sento etc.
Finnish sauna as skin-cleaner
However, when I hear about Infrared sauna as Finnish sauna alternative, I am not sure in its safety. Finnish sauna helps to clean our skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body and a major eliminative channel it is a pity but in most people, it is inactive, congested and toxic. Some factors as sun exposure, use of synthetic clothing, bathing in chlorinated water and exposure to hundreds of chemicals as a result the skin is heavily damaged. However, chlorinated water cannot stop me from Jacuzzi. For more look through: Comparing Infrared to Traditional Sauna as exact as Hamburger to Lobster grills!"

Also, I do not want to be as chicken in the microwave. Therefore, I have prejudice against Infrared sauna. Of course excessive sympathetic nervous system activity and emotions such as fear, anger and guilt cause blood to be withdrawn from the skin, contributing to inactivity of the skin. Nevertheless, we can restore our state of mind and body by means of traditional sauna as they provide many of the benefits including enhanced circulation and oxidation of the tissues. We often conclude that procedures our predecessors used are the healthiest and most useful. Well … Finnish sauna – its health improvement role and health benefits are enormous.

As for Infrared sauna, we have a trouble. In traditional sauna, Russian banya and Turkish hamam we heat our body up from the outside. We warm our skin, our head and our legs. But in case of infrared sauna, we heat up from the inside. We warm our bones, our bowels and muscles. I am not sure that hot Finnish guys invented the Sauna to warm their stomach. They use an alcohol for it. But for their bodies they build nice wooden houses or cabins. The Infrared sauna has the same wooden box with several infrared heaters that works by means of heaters that emit infrared radiation without heating the air. In the theory, a heater produces the radiant energy that is as though similar to the heat from the sun is a completely safe form of naturally occurring energy. However, the IR sauna heater is not similar to sun. Its heat penetrates more than 1.5 inches into the body. Are you sure that it is health giving? I am not.

I publish pictures of IR sauna cabins, and as you can see, they are similar to traditional sauna cabins. They all are made, with love and patience, using different sorts of wood, and the only difference – is the heater. I do not insist, but it will be better, if in your cabin, will be a traditional heater, and you will use my recopies from my previous posts.
Best sauna's recipes:
- Silver Fir as a bath essence for inhalation of freshness, strength and power.
- Peppermint – not only for mouthwashing, it’s the best thing for “health washing” if you use it in sauna and banya!
- Mustard – Borat’s (old Oriental) famous secret for sauna and banya.
- Some secrets with beer and absinth to lose weight and get a good mood.
- Using a natural Australian recipe in sauna or banya can prevent a cold or influenza.

I think that they're about the same

They're not the same, because in traditional sauna we heat up from the outside in infrared sauna we heat up from the inside.

Infrared sauna is used in hospitals to warm preemies in incubators! It will also not cause tanning, or skin cancer, and people who feel that traditional saunas are too hot for them will enjoy these saunas.

I agree, I don't want to sit in incubator.

After Sauna have a drink, not a dinner. Do not look at the food, especially rich in calories.

What can you say about this comparison?
- IR sauna operate at temperatures of 100 degrees F to 130 degrees F. Traditional sauna operate at temperatures of 180 degrees F to 220 degrees F, temperatures are not as well tolerated
- IR sauna is claimed to heat tissue three times as much as traditional sauna
- Far infrared's resonant absorption causes more toxins expelled through the kidney, liver, and hair
- IR saunas are safer as there are no hot surfaces or high temperatures
- IR saunas are portable and easy to assemble
- Far infrared sauna lower temperatures do not dry out the mucous membranes like traditional sauna
- Infrared energy requires 90% less electrical energy
- Less than 20% of the infrared energy heats the air, leaving 80% available to be directly converted to heat within the body
- Warms the user to a much greater depth (up to three inches) and more efficiently than the conventional sauna
- Induces two-three times the sweat volume as conventional saunas, increasing many of the health benefits, including detoxification, cardiovascular conditioning, and calorie burning.
- The lower heat ranges may be safer for those with cardiovascular risks
- The air is more pleasant and easier to breathe, making the sauna more comfortable to use. Many models pump in fresh air
- Warm up only takes 10-15 minutes compared to 30-90 minutes for traditional saunas.
- Uses no water, thus no plumbing costs, bacterial growth, or cleanup

Readers planning to buy a sauna should beware of the so-called infrared saunas, most of which are made in the PRC (China) from inferior materials.

In the traditional heater, the heating elements heat the air and a mass of stones. This allows for a consistent heat and the custom of sprinkling water on the stones, which changes the environment in the sauna dramatically. Water is not required in a traditional sauna, and without the sprinkling of water you can have a dry bath. Infrared saunas don't provide this wet or dry flexibility.

The infrared heaters have exposed heating elements, so that the heat radiates directly onto the bather in sort of a one sided fashion. These infrared heaters have a much lower capacity, so the most common complaint is that they fail to attain the heat typical for a genuine sauna, especially on the part of the body turned away from the heater.

One must question whether it’s actually healthy to expose one’s self to such direct radiation, or how enjoyable such an experience is, compared to the traditional sauna.

In contrast, the traditional Scandinavian style saunas are centuries old (they were heated with wood before electricity), and their safety and therapeutic efficacy is well established.

As with tainted toothpaste, poisonous pet food and lead painted children’s toys, some of these infrared saunas are downright hazardous at least according to the Electrical Safety Authority in Ontario, Canada. See…

I agree, infrared isn't as good as the usual saunas but are cheaper and so more affordable to many people. so at least it's better than nothing I guess :-)

My wife is a big fan of infrared saunas. She actually spends an hour or two at the sauna every week. Well, I think infrared saunas are equally as good as traditional ones.
